Football Season is Here ... so Daddy is M.I.A :)

Everyone that truly 'knows' the George crew- knows when Football season is here- 'ole Coach is M.I.A.
Luckily for Mom- this is Dad's last yr. of coaching which means she'll soon have her husband back- 365 days of the year :)

This is also Abbey's Senior year, which is a little hard for me to grasp ....
She too was voted one of the nominees for the Midway Homecoming Court- so in support of the old man & 'sista- Ricky & I made a fast trip to Waco- there & back for a 'lil Midway Football Action! (which we won, I might add!!!) ... and I must say, I was so proud of Abbey- Yes, I may be biases seeing as how she's my sister & all but she looked beautiful & is just a pretty on the outside as she is on the inside~

Wish the visit w/ the 'Fam could have been longer- but you know us ... ALWAYS on the GO, GO, GO!!

CRUE-FEST '09

Ricky & I went to CRUE-FEST this past Friday at the new & improved ... Woodlands Pavilion (since 'Ike' hit last September) .... We saw Godsmack & Motley which was a first for both! We had a great time w/ friends that joined the parrr-tayy ... too bad the concert didn't 'ROCK' out as we had hoped it was going to .... still a fun night non-the-less!
Me being the photo frenzy freak I am - was a little disappointed when I found out my camera had to stay in the car ... luckily Brian was able to sneak a few shots for me .... more to come soon!

July 4th, Piney Shores & More ...

What a FUN 8 days spent w/ my Fam!

Dad, Mom, Abbey & one of her friends, Chandler came to Houston for the week of July 3rd - 11th~ for some much needed time away full of rest & relaxation!!

We had a blast having them here w/ us - made me realize just how much I wish it was a more permanent arrangement! I keep telling them they need to move to Houston ... Mom just can't foresee herself trying to get around the City when she's used to I-35's 2 lane highway :)

The night before their trip was coming to a very sad end we took them to the Astros game! Our boys pulled thru & it ended up being a GREAT game against Washington! How 'bout them STROS!!!

We ran into Chad & his brother, Mike at the game ...

my precious 'Mama George'

we've never sat at the very top ... didn't this night either - actually had some great seats right behind 3rd base ... of course Abbey had to walk around to check things out (along w/ looking for boys) so while I was up there I decided to get a pic overlooking the stadium...

our FAV ... Berkman :)

Lee hit a homerun!

Oswalt had a great night pitching ...

this was one of the many days before going out to the pool ...

Me & my precious Pops

Jet ski time baby ... should have seen these girls hanging on for dear life ... I took them on a ride of their life :)

We dog sat at our house w/ the 'rents Ratterrier, Snickers - she enjoyed Jakes company a 'lil more then expected ... as you will soon see ... ;)

they kept arguing over 'Mr. Froggy' ...

~HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!~

What a GREAT day to recognize all the SPECIAL MEN out there ... especially MY DADDY!
This man has not only been the FATHER every girl dreams of having, but also my BEST FRIEND - Yes, I'm a DADDIES GIRL if you haven't noticed! :)
I may have caused his hair to turn grey but he never loved me any less b/c of it, plus it made for some GREAT laughs later down the road - THANK YOU DAD ... for just being YOU & the AMAZING MAN YOU ARE!
So many WONDERFUL memories~
From singing "I see your hiney - all white & shiny - you better hide it before I try to bite it" while giving me baths as a little girl - to my crooked, tangled pony tails while Mom was sick in the hospital, to coaching my T-ball games telling me to get tuff when I came running into the dugout from the play where I dove to catch a ball & ended up breaking my thumb ... (at the time he had no clue it was broken) - to being the only one I could convince to ride roller coasters w/ me at Six Flags, ohh & not to mention those FUN nights dancing at ACADEMY'S SPJST HALL - WeW! ... I could go on for hours~
WHAT AN AWESOME MAN!
I am so thankful to have him as my FATHER!
You can see me tearing up right before he walked me down the aisle on our BIG DAY...
He may have given me away but it will never change the fact that he will ALWAYS be the #1 Man of my Life!
I could hold on to this moment forever~

Dad ALWAYS knew how to cut a rug on the dance floor ;)

Sorry I wasn't home this year to celebrate your SPECIAL DAY DAD, you know you were on my mind & in my heart ALL DAY ... I LOVE YOU!!!!

Houston - Rocks Off - Maynard James Keenan, Rock's Most Unusual Winemaker

As you all know I've been behind on my blogging lately. Today I bring you Ricky's all time fav - singer.... MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN!
I was never a fan of Tool before meeting Ricky... boy did that all change...FAST!! Ricky grew up listening to Perfect Circle & Tool - chasing them all over the place to see them in concert. We drove to Oklahoma City two years ago to see Tool as well twice here in Houston.... Ricky's been to many more concerts then that thou.... this is just in the 5 years we've been together!
I have never seen anything like them.... their performances are truly amazing!
If Ricky had one wish to make of anything he could have in this this world... it may just be to spend a day hanging out w/ Maynard.... he's that COOL! When we heard he was coming to Houston to the Whole Foods in Sugar Land for a wine signing (new hobby: winemaker) March 26th we had to go!
We took off of work 1/2 day to make the BIG event ... and BIG it was! I've never seen so many people confined in to such a small area just to get the chance to meet one man! WOW!
It was priceless..... I went wearing my Merkin Vineyards shirt I bought off line a few years ago... little did we know that would score us a ticket w/ the documentary crew for a taping they're putting together! so COOL - hope we make it on the video!
Even cooler then that thou..... going in to the signing room you had to file in one by one as Maynard & Eric signed your bottle(s) & you were literally back out the door - so you only got a few seconds but it was long enough to have Maynard ask me for his shirt back! Yes, that's right.... Maynard James Keenan asked me to take my shirt off for him! HA! As I laughed & said, "hey, I'm a married woman" he followed w/ "Ya, I just met your husband but what he doesn't know won't hurt him so meet me out back!!" As much as I would have loved to have given my hubs the opportunity of hanging out w/ this guy ... I knew Maynard was implying me only :)
HEY! At least we got to meet him.... right? I mean, that is pretty cool aside from the fact he asked me for his t-shirt back :)
MAYNARD & ERIC
Houston - Rocks Off - Maynard James Keenan, Rock's Most Unusual Winemaker: "Maynard Keenan has to be one of the most enigmatic and musically schizophrenic men in rock. A soldier in the U.S. Army in the '80s, Keenan did a four-year tour of duty and then entered civilian life. He met future Tool guitarist Adam Jones in 1988 and one year later, the monolithic prog-metal group was born when the two enlisted drummer Danny Carey and bassist Justin Chancellor.
Keenan has had a myriad of side projects in music and film. He blew up modern-rock radio with the wiry and divisive A Perfect Circle in 2000, and confounded some with his solo Puscifer project. He was a semi-regular guest on HBO's Mr. Show with Bob and David as the lead singer of a fictitious metal band called - funnily enough - Puscifer.

A few years back, Keenan started a vineyard in Arizona - an area not generally associated with wine-making - with fellow vintner Eric Glomski, Since 2004, Caduceus Cellars has been producing bottles of well-received wine from his Merkin Vineyard."

this is the bottle...well 2 bottles that Ricky & I bought this past March when attending the signing at Whole Foods. We defiantly recommend trying it! Ricky was never much of a wine drinker until Maynard began his vineyards ... however that's never been the case for me! HA! We would have liked to buy one of the higher end bottles as well but unfortunately they were already sold out of everything except the Chupacabra by the time we made it to the front of the line. There was no limit to the quantity of bottles you were able to purchase so those of us in the 200#'s .... only had one option by the time we reached the purchasing counter! We did see one guy carrying 2 full case boxes with a credit card receipt showing over $600. spent! that should speak for itself......DEFIANTLY WORTH TRYING! ;)

As of now Tool is scheduled for a show in Denver, CO this summer & then one in Dallas as well - we tried to purchase tickets for the show in TX last Friday & within 3 minutes of going on SALE they were SOLD OUT! .... we are now looking in to Broker's .... it's a MUST SEE! :)

SOO.... Megs had to answer a list of 20 questions - trying to see how well she knows her hubs-to-be.... Mr. Wes :)
Punishment was.... every question answered wrong - YUP, a piece of bubble gum... EAT IT! with every wrong answer, you add one more piece of gum from the last until you're either done answering or break your jaw.....whichever comes first! lol! pieces #1....

Shout Out to 'lil Boogs :)

Shout Out to Sister #2!
HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY ABSTER!!!!
I remember the day Angela & I found out Mom was w/ pregnant w/ daughter #3... like it was yesterday! Angela & I were napping & the 'rents woke us to say, "Aunt Susan & Aunt Peggy are here.... please wake up - we need to have a family discussion" Oh know... we thought - what is it this time? :) Little did we know we were about to find out God was blessing us w/ a new baby sister!
Mom said, "If there is one thing in this world you girls could have, What would it be?"
My response, of course was....."A DOG!!!!" full of excitement! Angela probably said to meet a famous sports player of some sort - HA! Dad then proceeded with, "How would you two feel about a new baby sister?"
I again, of course replied with....."NO, not a sister - I won't be the baby anymore!" As I balled uncontrollably! (I was devastated to loose the daddy's baby girl 'roll') Angela with... "I want a brother, not a sister!" LOL! Neither of us were too happy as you can tell from our remarks :)
Little did we know Abbey was going to end up being the light of all of our lives! This 'lil "booger" as we all like to call her has brought so much joy & laughter to our family, she graces us w/ her beauty & uniqueness!
Since ON-ONE in our family can sing except Abbey we all tease her saying she's the "milk man's kid" :) Abbey sang at Ricky's & my wedding this past September (Casting Crowns, "I Know You're There) - WOW.... what an amazing voice.... it brought tears to all of our eyes!
We're hoping she'll try out for American Idol next season! We're all convinced w/ her voice - she'll win hands down but we're a little biases since she's our blood ;)

Miss Abbey ALWAYS the LIFE of the PARTY!
gotta love her for those faces too, she wouldn't be Abbs w/out them!
Christmas fav~
we're two peas in a pod :)

Singing at a Modeling show she did for Georgio's Bridal .... she's getting herself ready for her TV debut on Idol :)
this girl knows how to work it!
Abbey - we don't know where we'd be without you in our lives! You've brought so much to our family & we are so blessed to have a sister like you! Yes it's true... you're the sister we never wanted but now we cannot live without! :) We love you & Hope your SPECIAL DAY was perfect... just like you kiddo!

Jessica's Fairytale~

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Michael Guinn!!!!
Jessica is a long time friend I met back in my 'George's' bar waitressing days! .... those were the good 'ole days!! WE ARE SO HAPPY FOR YOU! MAY GOD BLESS YOUR MARRIAGE ALWAYS!

Ricky & I drove to Waco Friday night for Jessica's Saturday wedding at the beautiful Earl Harrison house! A storm came in just as we finished loading the car Friday night ... so we decided to wait a little while before leaving .... little did we know the storm wasn't going anywhere but everywhere we'd be driving that night! YES.... a typical car ride of 3 hours turned in to over 4!
When we finally arrived at Mom & Dad's it was after midnight & I had brought them a new computer... well I say them, more so for Abbey since she crashed their last one! AND... there she was greeting us at the door w/ puppy dog eyes wanting me to get the new one set up! SO.... what did I do.... exactly what Abbs wanted - she always gets her way or everyone pays! HA!
Saturday was the one day I was going to get to sleep in after working all week & I was SO EXCITED about it.... until.... here comes Abbey in our room at 7am Sat. morning shak'in & awak'in me wanting to know if she could borrow my hair straightener! Are you serious... just get it out of the bag! Once I'm awake I'm up so you can probably guess what came next.... me outta bed! Since this was also the day of West's HS Prom Abbey was running around frantic ALL DAY! Once again there I was to step in! She best love me for things I do for her! ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTA~

Sending a HUGE SHOUT OUT to my fabulous 'Sista - Angela today... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! What an amazing woman this lady is - I do not know how I could survive w/out her in my life - she is so precious to me & truly a gift of God's amazing work!!!
We used to fight like cats & dogs but somehow we always managed to patch things up! We would laugh until our stomach's ached & our faces hurt at the stupid jokes we'd tell that no-one could understand but US! (aka: Bart & Jenny nightmares) We did some of the meanest things to each other, but never truly meant an ounce of it. We defended each other when other's wouldn't - we did some of the silliest things together & yet there are still so many more unforgettable memories & stories to tell! Through some of the harshest times we became muted to one another but through it all, no matter what...the coldness would always melt away & we'd pick right back up to where we stand today....the BEST of Friends!!!
I love you Angela Paige ~ wishing you a year of great opportunities & God's many blessings!
No-one deserves it more then you!
Thanks for being you & the SUPER SIS you are & ALWAYS have been!
"Chance made us sisters - Hearts made us friends"

I hope your special day is everything you want it to be & so much more!

Happy Birthday!!!! I love you!

Princess Teag's turns ONE!!!!

Look at Ricky's happy expression....you'd think he was excited about something from the smirk on his face! Maybe it's all the good baby practice he got this weekend at all the kids parties we went to! ha! :)
We started out in the Park - celebrating Ella reaching her "Terrible Two's"!! This is going to be a fun year for Mom & Dad!! It's crazy how fast she's growing up! She defiantly resembles both parents - she's got Ryan's nose & Teresa's eye's! so precious!! It was fun seeing everyone w/ all of their latest additions to the fam!! a perfect party & day at the park!
We bolted a little early to make it to the Houston Zoo for Princess Teagan who turned 1!!!
